FIDELITONE Sponsors Heroes of Freedom Memorial
WAUCONDA, Illinois, September 18, 2015 - FIDELITONE is a proud sponsor of the Heroes of Freedom Memorial, located in the heart of downtown Wauconda. The memorial is a tribute to all who faced sacrifices on September 11, 2001, and to those who have been affected by the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.
The Heroes of Freedom Memorial features a 19-foot beam from the 91st floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The 7.5 ton beam is set in a pentagonal base extending the height more than 20 feet into the air. The base is decorated with five seals, one for each military branch. The black wall will bear the names of those who died and will display a police star and Maltese cross to commemorate those first responders lost. The base is circled by four benches, representing the four flights.
Joe Giglio, Chief Marketing Officer at FIDELITONE shared “It is a way for us to give back to the community, to honor those who sacrificed their lives and to support those who continue to put their lives on the line for our country.”
The city of Wauconda, IL, headquarters to FIDELITONE, hosted a 9/11 Dedication Ceremony of the new Heroes of Freedom Memorial on September 11, 2015. Hundreds filled Main Street for the unveiling of the Heroes of Freedom Memorial. Speeches were given by Wauconda Mayor Frank Bart, Scott Specht, a New York firefighter who responded in lower Manhattan as the twin towers fell, as well as a survivor of the Pentagon attack.
